The CIGA Conference and Future Workshops

CIGA would like to thank all of those who attended and supported CIGA’s Annual Conference on the 7th of June.

We had some excellent speakers covering a variety of topics. Adam Scorer from the NEA spoke about the benefits and impact of CWI and the challenge of meeting the needs of fuel poor households. Tim Pike from the Bank of England gave us an entertaining and inspiring talk around the outlook for output growth, inflation and interest rates and how they have been impacted by rising uncertainty and the slowdown seen in Q1, Richard Mellish from BEIS gave a thought provoking talk about the future of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), Phil Mason from Trustmark who provided an update on Each Home Counts and Nigel Donohue our CEO who provided a brief summary of CIGAs ongoing activity and work to help better prepare the industry in light of challenges and opportunities outlined by our speakers.

If you would like a copy of the slides contact press@ciga.co.uk. Please note slides will only be available from speakers who have given consent.

The CIGA workshops received good feedback, three of which were assisted by guest participants. Steve Hodgson the CEO of the Property Care Association worked with John Campbell, CIGA’s Technical Manager on the Building Forensics Workshop, Kate Jennings a Management Development Consultant from 3D Professional Development worked with Ola Taiwo, CIGA’s Head of Customer Service on the Building Customer Engagement Workshop and Andrew Champ, SWIGA’s Executive Director worked with Gerry Miller, Scheme Advisor to CIGA on Retrofit Standards (PAS2030 & PAS 2035) CIGA’s CEO Nigel Donohue, Head of Communications Caroline Kuchta and CIGA’s Head of Certification Ron Fenwick also covered the end to end offer, New Build Guarantee and Claims management activity.

As you are aware CIGA has introduced many positive changes in the last year and it is vital that our members and stakeholders have the opportunity to come together and be updated on how the changes will benefit them and householders. The conference proved to be a great opportunity for this to happen as well as giving members a chance to meet CIGA staff and network with fellow installers and system designers.

Of course all of this wouldn’t have been the success it was without the support of our sponsors. We’d like to say a special thank you to SIG Insulation, Knauf Insulation, Evolve and KIWA BDA. Find out more about our sponsors

Once again thank you to all of our members, we look forward to your participation again next year. We do value your feedback and all attendees will have received a survey via email, the results of which will be reviewed to make future events even more informative and enjoyable for all attending.
